Soaked Through ... The Year In Photographs ... January 22, 2013

After spending most of the day at school setting up my classroom in preparation for the new school year, I came home to drizzly showery weather and the sight of beautiful rain-soaked Eucalypt trees.

  1. I drove past my old school today on the way to the movies and saw all the teachers cars there and I realised it must be that time of the year again. I gave a little cheer as I thought I'm glad I don't have to be there anymore but then I gave a little groan as I miss the fortnightly pay packet.

    1. Yes Di, our pupil-free days start tomorrow, so I have to set the alarm!!! I really don't miss the sound of the alarm when I'm on holiday. Ah well, another day, another dollar!

  2. The colours on the Eucalypt are beautiful. It must be very rewarding being a teacher especially teaching the children you teach. When my boys were very young I helped out in the classroom with cooking and art work and made costumes for plays I loved that time spent in the classroom.
    Love the new header.

    1. Sue, I have to admit I get very excited over the smallest of gains with the students we work with. Sometimes I have to remind teachers just how wonderful the slightest progress really is!!!

May your new school year bring you much joy. What kind of school is it?

    1. Lorraine, I teach at a primary school where we have classes from Prep to Year 7 (ages 5 to 11). I now work solely with students with learning difficulties and disabilities, after many years as a classroom teacher in the early years.

  6. G'Day Bernie. I love the new header on your blog. I hope you get the rain you need but not too much as to cause problems. The plants are having a lovely time I expect!
